Chalet Dauphiné
Description
Ski Chalet & Winter Accommodation in the French Alps
Available from December until mid-April, Chalet Dauphiné is a perfect accommodation for a small group of friends to get together or a large family to have space to be comfortable. Nestled in the middle of Lauvitel Lodge, you have all the facilities you need to make it a place of your own. Within easy access from Grenoble, Lyon and Geneva, Chalet Dauphiné provides comfortable self-catered accommodation for your ski holiday in the French Alps.
The newly renovated Chalet Dauphiné’s main living space shows off the authentic vaulted ceiling at the same time as giving you a light, attractive kitchen area and friendly dining room. Combined with the 5 separate bedrooms and additional upstairs living room, this makes an ideal venue for a winter holiday together with your family and friends.
Meals are easy to prepare in the newly renovated kitchen with everything to hand. And for those who just want to keep good company there is also a small sitting area with sofa and chairs.
Leading upstairs there is a small sitting area that gives a quieter space for relaxing away from it all. Chalet Dauphiné has 5 comfortable bedrooms, each with their own character and charm, with 3 shared bathroom and shower facilities, accommodating up to 11 people comfortably. ‘The Indian’(blue) and ‘Pic de Venosc’ (green) have the advantage of leading out onto a shared balcony overlooking the gardens, a place to survey the magnificent winter scenery from your own space.
For those who prefer to be in the open air many of our guests take to sitting on the long bench leaning against the original stone wall of the house, surveying the incredible scenery as it is transformed by the changing moods of the weather.
Situated in the hamlet of La Danchere, we are far from it all and close to everything.
Skiing from Chalet Dauphiné allows you to take advantage of 3 amazing ski areas in France, including Les 2 Alpes with it’s high altitude glacier skiing , Alpe d’Huez and La Grave, without the noise and commotion of staying in any one of the big resorts. There is ample parking at the Lodge and the ski lifts and the roads are cleared of snow first thing each day ( 7.00am) and again in the evening (5.00pm) when there is fresh snow.
Most of our clients choose to take the telecabine from Venosc, an 8 minute drive from the Lodge, taking you directly up to Les 2 Alpes. We also have a special arrangement at Go Sport Montagne, with a 20% discount and an invitation to leave your ski equipment overnight, to be dry and ready for the next day. Or you may prefer to do something different and try snow-shoeing to Lauvitel Lake, ski touring in the Belledonne or the cross-country skiing at Ornon.
For your provisions, Bourg d’Oisans is 10 minutes from Chalet Dauphiné, with all the shops and facilities of a small French town, including a large, international Casino supermarket, restaurants, bars, bakers, butchers, pharmacy etc, and the Saturday morning market. In addition, Venosc has a small epicierie and it is always possible to pick up extra provisions on the way back down from Les 2 Alpes.
