Summer Stillness in Action Retreat: Delighting in Meaningful Action 2022

June 10 @ 6:00 pm - June 17 @ 12:00 pm
Trekking - Parc des Ecrins

A mountain adventure that will leave you feeling challenged, relaxed and fulfilled.

If you love being extremely active, but know you really need some down time, then our Stillness In Action Summer Retreat is for you.  We understand that switching off is not always easy, and making the most of your time out can be challenging.  Let us at Lauvitel Lodge do all the work for you, so that you can really enjoy the mountain activities you love and completely relax in a way you never new was possible.

Why Choose a Stillness in Action Retreat for your Summer Holiday?

Our Summer Retreat is designed for you to deeply enjoy being out in the mountains in a way that nurtures your inner being and gives you new sources of energy.  The difference to this holiday is that it will not evaporate after being back homer two weeks.  At Lauvitel Lodge, with the guidance of Caroline Purkhardt, you will discover and assimilate new sources of energy that will sustain and guide you, so that you can delight in meaningful and creative action on holiday as well as at home and ‘in the office’.

What’s on the programme:

Each day we will begin by exploring one of the 7 natural elements through mindfulness and movement in the Stillpoint.  In this beautiful space, the sense and quality of each of these natural elements will reveal itself to you:

  • Earth      Grounding, to be stable and safe
  • Sky          Lifting, to be light on your feet
  • Air           Breathing in a way that offers coordination and ease of movement
  • Water     Releasing tension, unnecessary effort and knowing when to be still
  • Wood     Inviting creativity and playfulness
  • Fire        Engaging in full on action for shear joy

With some flexibility for the weather and for your preferences, there will be the possibility  to experience:

  • Sleeping out under the stars, with the open heavens above you and the cool earth below you – a true alpine adventure – in all its simplicity.
  • Hiking up to Lauvitel Lake and beyond for the most incredible views and the sensation of being surrounded by the magnificent mountains.
  • Rafting on the Veneon river, connecting intimately with the glacial waters,  leaving you feeling exhilarated and refreshed.
  • Wild swimming and walking in the waters of the alpine rivers and lakes.
  • Following the most magical trails through the ancient forests towards La Berarde.
  • Climbing one of the local Via Ferrata, creating a safe way to face your fears and climb in the most extraordinary settings.

In the evenings, spend some time with Caroline: she helps you highlight your joys and your challenges of the day in order to make them rich and unforgettable.  And when you fancy a ‘day out’ from all the activities, you can ‘stay in’ and treat yourself to a spa day with Massage, Reiki or Facia therapy.

How will you benefit?

Throughout the Retreat, we will use nature-inspired coaching as a means to uncover your innate strengths, natural limitations and habitual ways of dealing with stuff.

Nature-inspired coaching uses real experiences in the physical world (such as a challenging hike) to let you observe your feelings, reactions and choices and then transpose these powerful insights into something immediately applicable in your everyday life.

We are two busy city-dwellers that spend most of our plugged-in days skirting the finest of lines that divides “high-performing” and “burnt out”.  In few words, the experience with Caroline was insightful, thought-provoking, and intimate.

Caroline has an incredible gift of observation.  Through her techniques she has an uncanny knack of leading you to answers you deep-down already know, of guiding you to truths that resonate, and of making a perfectly timed and succinct comment that leads you to stop, take a step back, and think “oh wow, that’s absolutely right”.

She does this in a welcome, warm, and inspiring space called the Stillpoint.  It’s a space that encourages expression, movement, and importantly the ability to play and make your experience your own.  It is a sanctuary from the urban, carved in the middle of majestic mountains, from which she teaches the value of stillness and demonstrates the surprising notion of how energy-filled that same stillness can be. Thanks to Caroline we left our week in the mountains with a new toolbox of tricks and a heightened sense of compassion with both ourselves and each-other.  Simply put, we are even stronger for it.

Returning to Lauvitel feels in some ways like returning home, and in other ways like returning to your true self.
