Welcome to Le Lauvitel! Like other chalets, we offer comfortable and friendly accommodation in an idyllic setting. We sit nestled amongst three mountain peaks of the Ecrins Park and look down the Oisans valley to the incredible beauty of the ever-changing sky over the distant Belledonne. It IS terrific. It IS stunning AND we know you can find a room with a view of the mountains in a hundred locations. What makes Le Lauvitel different?

At Le Lauvitel, we are committed to creating a get-away place where you can use your holiday or personal time off to enhance, even transform, your every-day life. Our facility and programs are specifically designed to build a sense of connection and community, encourage and support personal change, and inspire creativity. So, whether you are here for a ski holiday or have selected a retreat package, you can avail yourself of services and options that will give you a fresh view of what is possible in your life.

"Build Community"

All our holiday and retreat packages are meant to bring people together. Sometimes those people already know each other (i.e., families, friends, school mates); often the people involved begin as strangers. No matter how you start, a week talking, eating together, playing, and connecting will create a bond that time and distance cannot erode. Try one of our community-building packages:

Traditional family holiday and group event packages come with “well-being” options (e.g. Reiki, personal coaching, Tai Chi). If you want to break out of the “traditional”, our staff can help you create a unique activity agenda that will expand the “range” of your mountain experiences.
Our women-only events call women to focus on self-care and community-building while enjoying particular sports activities.
Singles will find our women-only and retreat packages ways to safely meet new people and experience new adventures.

"Support Change"

As you can tell from our Home Page, change is a central theme at Le Lauvitel. Change can be exhilarating and exciting…and it can be intense and difficult. Change is easier to build on and grow with when you have a supportive community in place. We sponsor retreats to encourage and foster the change you seek for yourself.

The WIT ‘n Wisdom Retreat Series offers women a stimulating program and a supportive community to insure that flourishing, not surviving, is the overall result of challenging life situations.
Spiritual Renewal Retreat Weeks provide individuals and couples time and place for reflection, renewal, and recommitment.
If you have a personal development retreat or workshop you want to lead, we will host your event and support your work with our outstanding hospitality package.

"Inspire Creativity"

Is your creative spark the first thing to wither in the grind of the day-to-day routine? You will find several in-house projects at Le Lauvitel to help you get your creative groove back in 2009.

	*Fun and Play* During the winter season, we will sponsor our first Best Snow Creature Ever contest. Interested participants will create a snowthing in the open field on the lower garden. Pictures of the snow creatures will be posted on our website. In April, we will include a vote for the Best Snow Creature Ever in our newsletter. The proclaimed winner of the Best Snow Creature Ever contest will receive a catered week-long stay for 2 adults during any of our “open” weeks. This is a transferable gift, so you can keep the holiday or give it away!
	*Inside the house*…in a warmer venue… you will find a rock and sand garden waiting for your sculpturing touch and an opportunity to build a scrapbook page to record the memories of your time at Le Lauvitel. We will provide the “fixin’s” for your scrapbook pages. You can use your photos or ones we take of you to create a page for our scrapbook here and a page to take home for your own memory book. This is a great way for parents and children to use those idle moments of a long ski vacation and for groups to commemorate a reunion event. With your permission, we’ll scan your work and include it in our online scrapbook.
	*Retreats* All our planned events include fun, creative activities. Our Writer’s Week, however, focuses specifically on the writer you yearn to become. During the Write That Book Now! retreat, you will work with a professional writing coach and interact with other soon-to-be published writers like yourself. This is a great opportunity to fully illuminate that writer hiding inside of you.
	*Get Physical* To exercise your physical and spiritual creativity, you can sign up for daily Tai Chi practice or a Reiki session with Caroline.

"Your Hosts"

When you arrive at Le Lauvitel, you will be greeted by your hosts, Caroline Purkhardt and Susan Westbrook. Caroline and Susan are committed to providing hospitality and well-being services to insure that your stay at Le Lauvitel provides the rest and refreshment you need to return to your everyday life at the top of your game.
